When I was in college, I lived with my mom here in Springfield.
We had wonderful neighbors, one of which brought us a batch of
her peanut brittle for Christmas one year. I was fascinated with
how different it was from any I’d ever seen…so I asked her how
she made it.
Being the sweet gal that she is, she not only offered to give me
the recipe, but invited me over for a lesson on how to make it.
And I was hooked. That peanut brittle became a staple at
Christmastime.
Several (like 15) years later, I was still cranking out the candy
every year…and was itching to try something new. I discovered
some amazing toffee recipes, and hit on the Chipotle addition
through much trial and error. Everyone loved it, and soon it
became as popular as the peanut brittle.
It was February of this year that I decided to turn
this hobby into my own business. My friends
were taking my candy to their workplaces, and
their friends were requesting it…It just became
too big to ignore.
My joy is seeing people enjoy these treats.
